Friends of Rwandan Rugby hosted the first TAG rugby development tour into the country over a 10 day period during the Easter vacation. 5 British coaches assisted by 4 local assistants embarked upon a mission to teach 300 Rwandan primary school children the game. The ultimate reward was a tournament successfully being run at the completion of the week. Schools from the Gitarama region included Kabgayi A, Kabgayi B and Shoygwe with the eventual winners The Blue Tigers showing great tenacity in a hard fought final. Our coaches developed a special bond with their teams and a large amount of equipment was donated to each school. In addition a teacher was successfully trained in rugby rules and techniques to allow the children continued access to our wonderful game.
