Friends of Rwandan Rugby (FORR) supports school and community participation in the game of rugby, to promote reconciliation and encourage a healthy and active lifestyle amongst the Rwandan people.
A dedicated team of 9 British coaches headed to the Southern region of Huye at the end of May. Armed with mountains of equipment they took on the challenge of teaching 400 children how to play TAG rugby aided by local assistants. Staying in simple accommodation the tourist had 10 days of learning about the Rwandan culture whilst sharing their passionate knowledge about the game of rugby. Culminating in another successful tournament the 2009 tour has planted a seed within the local community which will be nurtured through subsequent tours.
